Check out this DIY valet I got for Christmas!
It’s true, I have been absent a great deal lately, my recent sabbatical has been for the development of my Etsy shop. But we all had a lovely holiday season; I wanted to take a minute to share this unique easel or valet made by my sister in law, who followed a Pinterest tutorial to learn how to do it.
I’m not sure if it was made for tablets or mail, being that I have never made one of these, I cannot judge, but I do need to turn my tablet around longwise since this valet is a tad top-heavy as you might can see from the image…
Cool huh? Aren’t handmade gifts always the best kind of gifts? But other than that little flaw, I thought she did a nice job! It’s real wood and all, stained and has that “fresh wood smell”. I guess creativity is a thing that runs in families.
I’m not certain of what that little brass hook is for in the corner though. Unless it was intended for something like keys, kinda like a catch-all for stuff when you’re coming and going. A little bit like my jewelry rack, I think.
Upon closer inspection, she didn’t use any kind of glue; this is two pieces of wood with notches that connect together.
Following this design, I wonder if I could make a little bitty version of this for my smartphone? We shall see 🙂
But anyway, I haven’t wandered off and I hope everyone has a safe and happy new year and keep up the creativity wherever and whenever you can!
