Materials List
You only need a few specific items to make these….
- Some 65 lb cardstock
- Printable topper templates (see below)
- Scissors
- Drinking straws
This link explains it all , and also provides printables for your use 🍹😁
You’ve got options like funny fruit, mustaches, etc. once you have printed them off, all you have to do afterward is cut them out, cut into the right place for the straw, and attach them through the top of the straw.
Make sure to use some good quality cardstock, preferably in white so the designs will show up best,
Make It!
Depending on how many guests you are planning on having over, try to account for that amount of printable toppers, and combine all of them so you have a variety nearby.
Try to use the colorful kind of straws if you can get them; I especially love the kind that come in pink, green, orange, yellow, purple, etc. (I used a handful of colorful straws for this simple 3D wind twister)
Cut the slit for the straw to go through. Insert straw (if you’re using one of those straws with the bendable “flex neck”, slide the topper in at the bottom) Voila!
Kids will LOVE these straw toppers! (especially the funny monsters), and they’ll definitely want to take them with them at the end of the day! (So be prepared to print off a bunch of ’em)
Colored straws are a great craft element, I don’t know if they get the credit they deserve, but i’ll save that for another post )
Hope you enjoy making these, and may you have a super successful summertime party!
