Great Gifts For Young Budding Artists
If your child, or a friend’s, or your niece or nephew is a budding Picasso or Monet, you know already, when a special occasion for gifts comes up, you may have a little work cut out for you – what kinds of things make great gifts? What should you be looking for that will stimulate their developing imagination and creativity?
Well today’s your lucky day, I’ve got some suggestions for you today for some great ideas that can help nurture the gifts of your little Picasso!
This Inspiration Art Case Filled with Supplies
Check out this beautiful rainbow color scheme briefcase – Inside it is a treasure trove of supplies: crayons, markers, colored pencils and drawing paper – up to 140 pieces in all! (It’s hard to not want one for myself, just by looking at it!)
Not only is it pretty snazzy looking, your kids can learn organization skills from having all the many different compartments in which materials are kept -hooray, no more scattered markers all over the place!
A must-have for your budding young artiste to have alongside him or her on long car trips, visits to the relatives, and other scenarios in which the urge to pull out some paper and pencils will be a lifesaver! Although I love the rainbow cover, I did see some other particular design options, (e.g the Minions, however, at the time of writing it looked like it might have been out of stock.)
Your Budding Artist and String Art Kits: A Match Made in Heaven!
I’m sorta jealous in a way; I wish they had these when I was a kid? String art is a great non-messy way to encourage your artistic minded child in a fun and unique hobby. Everything in this kit is included; it is kind of similar to the string kits for girls I mentioned earlier but these have even more parts and features, enough for your child to make up to 6 different masterpieces.
The company that made this really knows what they’re doing – not only are there instructions, cardboard backdrops, string, paper with patterns, and the pins, but 3 different techniques are included to carry out as well as a special pine pusher to assist with placement, so your youngster won’t have any hiccups along the way there.
More string art kits…Consider the personalized one, kids love stuff they can call their own!
Steeping Stone Mosaic Art Kits
The immortalized handprint in plaster is a kids’ classic for a reason – but this one takes that a little bit further! Does your child take an interest in combining mediums like glass stones, marbles or beads? Working together on a beautiful mosaic stepping stone project together will be great for the family.
Everything is included, from the plaster mix to the stones; this family-friendly activity I found is sure to engage and fascinate your artistic youngster. In addition, if s/he takes a real liking to it ; there are also refill supplies available from the company too.
An Artist’s Box “STEAM” Kit
Think of this one as a “grab bag” or wildcard kit; it’s got everything in it for kids to come up with their own variations on 7 different project ideas. How did it get it’s name? “STEAM” =Science, Technology, engineering, art and math, so it’s a winning combination.
In addition to tools, it also comes with 7 “challenge cards” to give kids some ideas to build upon. Materials include: 2 Styrofoam balls, pipe cleaners, feathers, and tissue paper. So if you’ve got a kid who “likes to color outside the lines” (in other words, push the boundaries) this is the one for you!
Scratch Art Sets
I stumbled across these at the local Hobby Lobby one time – I may have owned one too once; can’t remember what the picture resulting was of…this one I found is a butterfly. There are lots of designs to choose from, consider the child’s tastes. The black sheet is what you start with; you just grab the tool included, and go to town.
Rainbow Scratch Paper Art Kit for Kids: 20 Sheets of Rainbow Color Scratch Off Paper + 2 Stylus ScratchersMelissa & Doug Scratch Art Doodle Pad Book (Arts & Crafts, Mini Stylus Included, 16 Spiral-Bound Pages)Purple Ladybug Scratch Paper Set for Kids: 36 Sheets, 18 Rainbow +9 Gold+9 Holographic Silver
As your child scratches through the paper it will reveal the beautiful background colors. Sometimes the background is a shimmery gold and copper and some of these have a rainbow array! No doubt this will lead to a finished work of art that will proudly grace the wall too.
So if you made it this far….Thanks for reading and hope you find something of this list to be helpful.
